Bridgeway Health Services is seeking a full-time Assistant Psychologist to join their clinical psychology department within the North Tyneside Community Learning Disabilities Team in Wallsend. The role focuses on supporting qualified staff in conducting assessments and therapeutic interventions for children and adults with learning disabilities. Candidates should possess a degree in Psychology and demonstrate experience working with this demographic. Key responsibilities include assisting in research projects, data collection, and administrative tasks under the supervision of qualified professionals, while also fostering a compassionate and inclusive leadership culture within the team.
The ideal candidate will be empathetic, adaptable, and resilient under pressure, with experience in psychometrics or research being advantageous. Job Summary
Our team is a large, well established and supportive multi disciplinary team offering holistic health care support to children and adults who have a learning disability living in North Tyneside. We are currently looking to employ a full time assistant psychologist to join our established clinical psychology department within the community learning disabilities team.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be managed and professionally led by the principal clinical psychologist for North Tyneside Community Learning Disabilities Team and supervised by other qualified staff. The post is primarily a clinical role, focussing on supporting our qualified staff in assessments and therapeutic interventions with children and adults with learning disabilities.
The post-holder will be empathetic, adaptable and responsive to the needs of our patients and have experience of working with people with learning disabilities. You will also demonstrate emotional resilience and a capacity to maintain a compassionate approach even in stressful situations. Experience of using psychometrics or carrying out research would be beneficial as this will be a key part of the role.
