The South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Highly Specialist Psychologist/Psychological Therapist for a Band 8a position (or Band 7 to 8a Preceptorship) at the National Psychosis Unit, Bethlem Royal Hospital. The successful candidate will work alongside the Consultant Clinical Psychologist to deliver high-quality psychological services, focusing on evidence-based interventions for individuals with psychosis and their families. Key responsibilities include conducting neuropsychological assessments, supporting ward staff in creating a psychologically safe environment, providing clinical supervision, and facilitating case discussions and staff support groups. The role also emphasises research opportunities and collaboration with local academic institutions, contributing to a multidisciplinary approach to treatment.

In this role, the psychologist will play a significant part in promoting psychological safety and trauma-informed care on the ward, engaging in treatment and discharge planning, and providing educational support to the team. The National Psychosis Unit specializes in individualized, evidence-based interventions for complex cases of psychosis, aiming to improve patient quality of life and reduce the need for intensive care placements.
