VIRAL LAB is seeking an enthusiastic Health Care Assistant to join their team in East Sussex, specifically working in the community to provide high-quality patient care. The role involves maintaining the personal care of clients while promoting their dignity and independence. Key responsibilities include supporting clients with their personal care needs, assisting in mobility and the use of care equipment, managing medication after training, and maintaining client confidentiality.

Candidates should have experience working with vulnerable individuals, good communication skills, and knowledge of time management. A willingness to engage with clients and facilitate their personal development is essential. The position requires NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care, and an Enhanced DBS Certificate is mandatory. Key Responsibilities And Accountabilities

To work as part of an efficient team and to contribute to the smooth running of the Service
To continue professional development through attending and contributing to internal or external training and development, meetings and supervisions
To maintain confidentiality regarding all issues and information relating to clients.

Functional

To support client's personal development regarding independence, acquiring skills, asserting rights and choices
To actively engage with clients in conversation or other forms of communication of their choice
To support clients personal care needs
To administer and manage medication, after training
To support client's general physical needs including mobility, to assist in the use and care of equipment and aids
To read and write reports and take part in training activities as directed

Communication

Good verbal and written communication skills with the ability to accurately complete care plans and maintain up to date information
Maintain good relationships and an empathetic and professional approach to clients and relatives

Knowledge

Experience of working in a care setting involving vulnerable people
Well-developed time management skills with the ability to work under pressure
Take a pro-active approach to consulting and involving others in the decision-making process as appropriate
Knowledge of food hygiene preparation or a willingness to learn

Other

Must be able to get independently to the clients.
Must follow the care routines to ensure that the client receives the correct care.
Must be able to write and converse adequately in English.
Drivers must have business insurance if using their cars to assist clients in accessing the community.
