NHS Scotland is seeking a Healthcare Support Worker to join the Advanced Nurse Practitioner service within Fife’s District Nursing Service. This role is focused on providing safe, effective, and person-centered care to patients in a primary care setting, as part of the transformational shift in healthcare to meet the needs of an aging population. The successful candidate will possess excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate within a healthcare team, as well as work autonomously.
The position requires travel across different areas of Fife and may involve covering various Health and Social Care Partnership localities based on service needs. Applicants must be willing to join the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme and comply with NHS Scotland's working hour adjustments, which will be reduced from 37.5 to 37 hours by April 2024. An exciting opportunity has arisen as part of the Transforming Nursing Roles to expand the Advanced Nurse Practitioner service within Fife’s District Nursing Service. We are therefore looking to recruit a Health Care Support worker to support the team. This new position will assist to deliver safe, effective and person centred care to patients within the primary care setting.
It is recognised that as people live longer, services and the way we work together has to change if we are to continue to meet the needs and aspirations of our communities. In Fife Health and Social Care Partnership there is a recognition that having staff with the right Knowledge and Skills within the community is required to support patients to live long and healthy lives in their own home or in a homely environment.
You will require excellent communication skills and be able to work as a member of the wider Health and Social Care Team with the ability to work autonomously. As this is a community post you will also be required to travel across Fife.
You will be employed under the District Nursing Service and will predominately cover an area that covers some of the 7 H&SCP Locality areas however this would be flexible dependent on service needs.

NHS Scotland is reducing their full-time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay. This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff. This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours. However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week.
