Job Summary: Trust Grade Doctor in Anaesthetics and Intensive Care (ST3+)
Location: Scarborough, York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust
Duration: Fixed term for up to 6 months
Positions Available: 1 in Scarborough, 1 in York

Duties:

  • Provide anaesthetic services including pre-operative assessments, management, and pre-medication for surgical patients.
  • Administer local and general anaesthetics for both routine and emergency surgeries.
  • Manage post-operative assessments and complications in collaboration with surgical teams.
  • Provide anaesthesia for obstetric procedures and assist in the Intensive Care Unit and Critical Care Outreach.

Training and Support:

  • Not an approved training position, but includes a named educational supervisor and a comprehensive induction program.
  • Individual training plans and access to an NHS e-portfolio are provided.
  • Performance appraisal after 6 months and support for obtaining an Alternative Certificate for future training opportunities.
