The East Kent Hospitals University NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Trust Doctor in Anaesthetics (ST3) to join the Anaesthetic Department at Kent & Canterbury Hospital. The role involves supporting intensive care and the perioperative management of surgical patients in a busy environment that includes a range of elective and emergency procedures. The hospital accommodates diverse specialties such as vascular, urological, dental, ENT, general surgery, and orthopaedics, among others, and features various operating theatres, including a state-of-the-art elective orthopaedic unit.

The position entails 48 hours of work per week, with on-call responsibilities on a 1 in 8 rota covering theatre emergencies and ITU. The successful candidate will collaborate across medical and service departments and may engage in initiatives aimed at enhancing patient care within the trust's transformation journey. The trust emphasises compassion, effective communication, and a commitment to making a positive impact on the local community, which encompasses a population of about 800,000.
