Job Summary
Are you an enthusiastic, motivated Dietitian with a keen interest in Paediatric Allergy? Do you have a passion for supporting children and families? We are looking for an Dietitian to join our Paediatric Dietetic Department team to take up this exciting full time post on a fixed term basis, covering a maternity leave position. You will be a core and valued member of the Paediatric Allergy multidisciplinary team working closely with consultants, medical teams and specialist nurses. You will become an integral member of the dietetic allergy team, made up from a Senior Specialist Allergy Dietitian, Specialist Allergy Dietitian and Dietetic Assistant.
Main duties of the job
Provide specialised dietetic care to children with an allergy diagnosis, and their families and carers at a local and regional level. You will provide a proactive and coordinated nutrition and dietetic service on a primarily outpatient basis through dietetic led and consultant led clinics. You will show initiative in assisting and supporting the senior specialist dietitians and the clinical dietetic manager in the day-to-day management of the department.
About Us
We are currently 34 full and part time Childrens Dietitians & dietetic assistants, providing a wide range of secondary, tertiary, and supra-regional services based at the Leeds Childrens Hospital. We are part of the wider Nutrition and Dietetic Service in Leeds Teaching Hospitals, which is based across 5 hospital sites- Leeds General Infirmary, St James Hospital, Wharfedale Hospital, Seacroft Hospital and Chapel Allerton Hospital. You will be expected to provide cover for colleagues within the multi-specialty Childrens dietetic team at times of annual leave or sickness. We will support you with appropriate training opportunities to facilitate this. You will be fully involved in student training, contributing to the provision of training programmes for A, B and C placement learners. Our team has excellent support from four dietetic assistants and the admin team. You will have access to IT and library facilities across 2 hospital sites.

- BSc(Hons) Nutrition & Dietetics or Equivalent.
- HCPC registration.
