NHS Scotland is seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist for a 12-month position within the Adults with Learning Disabilities Team in Arbroath. The role involves assessing and providing specialized interventions for adults with a variety of learning disabilities, including those with complex physical, medical, and psychological needs, as well as addressing challenging behaviors. Candidates should possess flexibility for occasional out-of-office hours work and have some experience in equipment assessment and adaptations.
The position is suitable for both Band 5 therapists looking to enhance their skills and Band 6 professionals seeking a change in specialty. Successful applicants will receive support from senior staff and benefit from ongoing personal and professional development opportunities. This is an ideal position for a Band 5 with experience in the Learning Disability field wishing to develop or consolidate their skills, or, for an existing Band 6 working in a related field looking for a change of specialty.
The successful applicant can expect to be fully supported by senior staff through our established system of personal and practice development. We also have a strong commitment to the development of the Occupational Therapy team as well as supporting change and improvement initiatives within the wider learning disability team. Innovative practice, clinical governance, CPD and evidence based practice are all actively encouraged.
