The Village Angels Shift Lead role at the LGBT Foundation in Manchester is a leadership position within a community safety initiative. This service aims to ensure the safety of individuals in the LGBTQ+ community as they navigate Canal Street and its surroundings on Friday and Saturday nights, typically from 9 PM to 3:30 AM. The Shift Lead will oversee a team that provides support to vulnerable individuals facing various issues, ranging from injuries and mental health crises to navigation challenges. Strong communication and leadership skills are essential, as well as the ability to manage challenging situations and make decisions in high-pressure environments. Familiarity with the issues faced by the LGBTQ+ community is essential, and while experience in health care is a plus, necessary training in first aid, safeguarding, and mental health will be provided.

In this role, the Shift Lead will also be responsible for maintaining partnerships with Greater Manchester Police and local venues, fostering a collaborative approach to community safety. The position underscores the importance of creating a supportive environment and advocating for the well-being of the LGBTQ+ community through effective team management and community engagement.
