An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Clinical Decision Unit as Ward Manager.
Clinical Decisions Unit (CDU) is a fast-paced environment within the Emergency Department, where patients requiring further assessment, treatment, or observations are monitored for a short period of time. This is an 8 bedded ward with assessment areas and a waiting room.
The Clinical Decision Unit is part of a brand new Emergency Village that has been built and will be a brand new unit.
This role will look to suit a motivated, enthusiastic individual, the ideal candidate must demonstrate their ability to work under pressure, be adaptable to change and thrive in an environment with a varied workload.

We are looking for highly motivated, forward thinking and experienced staff.
You will coordinate day to day shift and be responsible for the patient flow and coordinate care on the unit.
Working in collaboration with other key staff in the clinical group, maintain effective use of bed availability by timely and effective admission and discharge.
Conduct clinical assessments of patients admitted to CDU including observations and pain levels
You will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care needs of patients from admission to discharge home or transfer to the inpatient wards..
You will maintain accurate, comprehensive, and timely documentation of patient care in accordance to Trust policies.
You will coordinate the daily activities and operations with CDU and safely pulling patients from other areas within ED, ensuring efficient patient flow, timely assessments, and adherence to clinical protocols
You will be a motivated and compassionate nurse who is dedicated to delivering safe, effective, and patient-centred care.
You will be responsible for the development, monitoring and auditing of standards for use in the clinical area. Ensuring that care delivered in the clinical area is of the highest quality, supported by research and in accordance with local and national policies, procedures, and guidelines.
You will support the junior and the newly qualified. You will be supported in your role clinically by an experienced Ward Manager, Matron and Lead Nurse
