The County Durham & Darlington NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Patient Safety Lead for an 8-month fixed-term position in Darlington. The successful candidate will oversee the implementation of the Trust's Patient Safety Incident Response plan, provide leadership to the patient safety team, and coordinate investigations and thematic reviews related to patient safety incidents. The role emphasises creating a culture of safety, supporting staff and families affected by incidents, and driving initiatives aimed at improving patient care and reducing risks.

Key responsibilities include managing incident responses, ensuring compliance with national guidelines, and collaborating with various stakeholders to prioritize safety issues like falls and infections. The Patient Safety Lead will also analyze data to identify trends, maintain oversight of investigations, and develop action plans for service improvements. Essential skills involve compassionate leadership, effective communication, and the ability to manage a complex workload independently. A valid driver’s license for site travel is also required.
