The University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Medical Examiner (ME) to enhance the scrutiny of death certification processes as part of the Department of Health and Social Care's initiative. The role involves verifying clinical information on Medical Certificates of Cause of Death (MCCDs) and ensuring appropriate referrals to the coroner. Candidates must be practicing doctors with a minimum of five years on the General Medical Council register, ideally at the consultant level from various medical disciplines. MEs will maintain clinical accuracy in their reports, engage with families, and adhere to continuous professional development.
