NHS Scotland is seeking a Hospital Pharmacy Manager for University Hospital Monklands in Airdrie. This leadership role involves overseeing the pharmacy team to ensure the delivery of high-quality pharmaceutical care and the safe, effective use of medications within the hospital. The ideal candidate will possess significant experience in the acute sector, demonstrate strong team management skills, and have advanced clinical knowledge. They will also play a pivotal role in strategic planning and development initiatives for the expanding pharmacy services and hospital operations.
The role requires a Master's Degree in Pharmacy, membership with the General Pharmaceutical Council, and a postgraduate degree in Clinical Pharmacy or Management. University Hospital Monklands has a rare opportunity for a dynamic pharmacy leader to join our pharmacy team as the Hospital Pharmacy Manager. The successful candidate will provide managerial and professional leadership to the pharmacy team to deliver high quality pharmaceutical care and services within the base hospital. They will also work alongside the acute division and hospital management teams to ensure the safe, effective and person-centred use of medicines.
We are looking for an exceptional pharmacy leader with a variety of experience within the acute sector and at a senior level. They must have experience of managing and developing teams as well as facilitating change management to improve services to patients. An advanced level of clinical knowledge, reasoning and judgement, understanding of relevant relating to medicines and pharmacy practice, and governance within the NHS are required. It is essential that the successful candidate has a track record of working in collaboration with others and the ability to influence and negotiate to achieve positive outcomes. The post holder will also participate in the site senior manager on-call rota.

The Role
To lead, plan, deliver, develop, manage and evaluate the operational, clinical and strategic aspects of pharmaceutical services provided within base Hospital.
To provide expert strategic pharmaceutical advice on the safe, clinical and cost effective delivery of pharmaceutical services in accordance with objectives set by the Director of Pharmacy, Site Director of Hospital Services, Chief of Medicine, hospital management team and clinicians.
To act as a role model and lead a team of pharmacy staff to provide a consistently high quality pharmaceutical service which enhances patient care and to ensure the pharmacy service is delivered in a safe, legal and efficient manner.
