NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is seeking an experienced Community Staff Nurse for their out-of-hours service in Glasgow. The ideal candidate must possess a Live PIN with the NMC and a first-level adult nursing qualification, along with significant nursing experience and strong leadership and communication skills. Responsibilities include working within the Primary Health Care team under the supervision of a District Nurse to assess and implement care plans for individuals in a community setting. The role requires autonomy and a passion for community services, with a shift pattern of three evenings over seven days, including weekends and public holidays.
Candidates are expected to have a current driving license, and while the salary is pro-rated for part-time work, the working week will transition from 37.5 to 37 hours from April 2024, with flexibility for some service areas. Applicants to the post require to have significant nursing experience and demonstrable leadership and communication skills and evidence on continuing development. They must be passionate about a career in community services and be motivated to work autonomously within a dynamic environment as part of the wider HSCP. As a community staff nurse you will work within the Primary Health Care team and under the direction and supervision of the District Nurse, who will assess and deliver an agreed plan of care to individuals within a community setting.

NHS Scotland is reducing their full time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay. This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff. This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours. However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week.
