Job Summary:
Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board is seeking a qualified Health Care Support Worker for its Wound Clinic Service in Pontypridd, primarily covering Merthyr, Cynon, Rhondda, and Taff Ely areas across four clinic sites. The role requires a confident individual with a Level 3 NVQ/QSF in health care or equivalent experience, with a commitment to obtain the qualification within three months. The position involves 30 hours per week over four days, and the candidate must be flexible and able to travel between clinic sites.

Main Duties:

  • Work under the supervision of the Wound Clinic Lead Nurse to provide wound care treatments, including compression bandaging, leg ulcer care, and post-operative care.
  • Report any changes in patient conditions to the lead nurse.
  • Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team and assist with clerical tasks related to patient management and stock maintenance.

Qualifications and Skills Required:

  • Essential: NVQ Level 3 in health care (or willingness to achieve), experience in clinical observations, and effective communication skills.
  • Desirable: Level 4 qualification in health care and previous wound care experience.

Salary: £24,433 to £26,060 per annum (pro rata).
Contract Type: Permanent, part-time (30 hours/week).
