Swansea University is seeking a Locum Appointment for Service (LAS) ST Higher position in Cardiothoracic Surgery at Morriston Hospital, Swansea. This fixed-term role spans from 5th February 2025 to 3rd February 2026, primarily to cover a training doctor vacancy. The successful candidate will collaborate with a diverse clinical team, including consultants and nurses, to provide high-quality and effective patient care based on established clinical pathways and protocols. Although the position is not recognized for training purposes, the appointee will have access to teaching opportunities and be encouraged to engage in audit and quality improvement initiatives.

Candidates should possess an MBBS or an equivalent medical qualification and have completed the MRCS before application. Experience in general thoracic and cardiac surgery at the ST3 level is particularly desirable. Effective communication skills, the ability to manage clinical decisions under pressure, and a commitment to personal development and the specialty are essential attributes.
