The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust is seeking a Healthcare Assistant to join their Haematology Day Unit Nursing team in Shrewsbury. The role involves supporting both the Treatment Unit and Outpatient Review Clinics, with responsibilities including monitoring patients receiving chemotherapy, providing refreshments, assisting nursing staff with procedures, and collecting blood products. The position requires working up to 30 hours weekly from 8 am to 6 pm, Monday to Friday, with potential for set working days based on discussion with management. Candidates must hold GCSEs in Maths and English at grades 9 - 4 (or equivalent) and should be able to effectively communicate and support patients and their families.

This diverse role emphasises patient interaction and care, requiring the Healthcare Assistant to undertake tasks such as weighing patients, chaperoning clinical examinations, and performing simple dressings.
