Job Summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen as a bank administrator to provide effective & efficient reception and administration duties to support the smooth running of Clinical Support Services Administration teams and Clinic Reception at Liverpool Women's Hospital.
The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our office by managing various administrative tasks, supporting staff, and maintaining an efficient work environment. This position requires proficiency in computerised systems, excellent phone etiquette and strong organisational skills.
A bank colleague will support planned and unplanned absences between 8am- 6pm Monday-Friday as determined by the needs of the business.
Main duties of the job
Responsibilities
- Perform general clerical duties, including filing, data entry, and maintaining organised records.
- Manage incoming and outgoing communications, including phone calls and emails, demonstrating excellent phone etiquette.
- Undertaking the booking and scheduling of patient appointments and associated administrative duties.
- Collaborate with team members to facilitate effective communication within the office

Qualifications Essential
- Educated to GCSE level or equivalent including English and Mathematics.
- European Computer Driving Licence (ECDL) Qualification or equivalent.
Desirable
- Additional Customer Service or Administration qualification such as an NVQ Qualification.
Experience Essential
- Experience of working in a NHS contact centre, reception or equivalent appointment booking environment.
- Previous experience of data entry/ input.
Desirable
- Knowledge of a hospital-based Patient Administration System.
Skill, Knowledge & Aptitudes Essential
- Understanding of confidentiality, Data Protection and Caldicott principles.
- Able to recognise and resolve routine issues referring where appropriate
- Knowledge of NHS waiting time requirements and procedures.
- Able to maintain accuracy to high standards.
- Professional and friendly telephone manner.
- Organised and methodical with an attention to detail.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages i.e., Outlook, Word, Excel
