Job Overview We are seeking compassionate and motivated individuals to join our surgical team as Health Care Assistants at Wexham Park Hospital. You will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to patients, ensuring their comfort and dignity during their surgical journey. Previous experience in a healthcare setting is desirable but not essential. Main duties of the job Assist patients with personal care, mobility and basic needs. Support the clinical team in preparing patients for surgery and post-operative care. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized ward environment. Observe and report any changes in patient conditions to the nursing staff. Contribute to the team by fostering a positive, patient centred approach. Assist patients with personal hygiene, dressing, eating, and mobility. Support patients' physical and emotional well-being during their stay. Frimley Health Trust benefits on Vimeo Detailed Job Description And Main Responsibilities Assist nursing staff in basic clinical tasks such as taking and recording vital signs (temperature, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure). Support with wound care and dressing changes under supervision. Assist with monitoring fluid intake/output and other observations as directed. Monitor patients for any signs of post-operative complications and report concerns promptly. Maintain a clean and organized ward environment, ensuring equipment is sterilized and stocked. Help set up and clear away surgical beds, trolleys, and patient areas. Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the multidisciplinary team. Work as part of a team to deliver high-quality patient care. Attend mandatory training sessions and participate in on going professional development.
