The Cromwell House team is seeking a Clinical Psychologist or Cognitive Behavioural Therapist (CBT) who is motivated and enthusiastic to join their supportive and friendly environment. The role offers opportunities for career progression with regular supervision, continuing professional development (CPD), and training, all underpinned by a focus on staff wellbeing.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing CBT-based assessments and interventions for individuals experiencing psychosis and bipolar disorder.
- Conducting Behavioral Family Interventions for families supporting individuals in recovery from psychosis.
- Carrying out assessments and CBT sessions for users with complex, long-standing mental health issues such as anxiety, depression, and trauma.
- Leading recovery-focused group work for service users and their families.
The successful candidate will be a flexible team player with a strong sense of initiative, able to manage stress effectively and work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team. Experience in CBT for psychosis and bipolar disorder is desired.

Cromwell House Community Mental Health Team are looking to recruit a motivated and enthusiastic Clinical Psychologist/ Cognitive Behavioural Therapist to join our successful, friendly and supportive team.
Cromwell House offers great opportunities to continue your career progression with regular supervision, CPD sessions and training. We are focused on staff wellbeing, offering clinical, line management and peer supervision sessions, team building exercises and mindfulness.
We are a committed integrated service that strives to provide quality recovery based support to people with severe and enduring mental health related difficulties within the Salford area.
You will need to be an individual who is flexible, creative, committed and able to adapt positively to change. Can be organised, able to prioritise and works well under pressure. You should also be able to work effectively offering Psychological assessment and treatment working in partnership with service users and their carer’s promoting independence and recovery of people with serious and enduring mental health difficulties. You will also have a strong sense of initiative and an excellent team working ability.
Experience of offering CBT for psychosis and service users with diagnosis of Bipolar disorder would be desired.
The Post Holder Will Primarily Be Responsible For Providing
- Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) based assessment and interventions for people experiencing distressing psychosis and bipolar who use the Community Mental Health Team (CMHT) service.
- Behavioural Family Intervention assessment and interventions for families who are supporting a person’s recovery from psychosis.
- CBT based assessment and intervention sessions for CMHT service users who are experiencing complex and potentially long-standing problems such as severe anxiety, depressed mood, and trauma.
- Recovery focused group work for people who use the service and/or their family members (e.g. running ‘Friends and Family’ groups).
The Post Holder Will Also
- function as an integral member of the service’s multi-disciplinary team,
- contribute to psychological aspects of crisis management
- contribute to the supervision and professional development of other staff.
- work within the policies, procedures and guidelines for the Salford Directorate.
Follow an agreed job plan.
