Locum Appointment for Service (LAS) in Hospital at Home and Respiratory Virtual Ward
£1106.81 per week (ST1/ST2 level)
To commence as soon as possible, for a maximum of 18 months up until 1 April 2026, but shorter term contracts also considered.
Full Time Monday to Friday 9-5pm
Less than full time hours would also be considered

The Role
You would gain experience looking after patients under the care of the Hospital at Home and Respiratory Virtual Ward, providing hospital-level care and monitoring in patient’s own homes or Care Homes. You would be working within a supportive team of consultants and nurse practitioners. We currently provide this service to patients living within the central Borders and Cheviot regions but hope to expand to other regions as the service grows.
If you wish there may be the opportunity to contribute to the general medical out of hours rota at the BGH, only by mutual agreement and if not impacting daytime working within this service.
This post is aimed at post foundation doctors at
ST1 or ST2
level who have completed a foundation medical training programme (or have gained equivalent additional clinical experience). Full GMC registration and licence to practice is essential.
A Drivers License and access to a car is essential for this role. Travel expenses incurred while seeing patients will be reimbursed.
This post is not a recognised training grade but will be a great opportunity to develop and evidence clinical and professional competence to assist overall career development, particularly for those interested in careers in medicine, medicine of the elderly, respiratory medicine or General Practice.
