East Cheshire CMHT service has an exciting opportunity for a Band 4, Assistant Psychologist to join our Ageless CMHT in Crewe.

We are looking for applicants who are passionate about working from a trauma informed, person centred psychological perspective and are enthusiastic about working alongside CMHT service users and our experienced MDT colleagues that support them. Your role will cover an integrated CMHT that provides a range of treatment and recovery promoting services to both adult and older adults experiencing significant psychological distress, being survivors of trauma and/or experiencing cognitive and memory difficulties. The team consists of highly skilled, committed and experienced clinicians from various backgrounds such as medical, nursing, OT, support workers /peer support workers.

The objective of the role is to support and increase the offer of psychologically informed interventions in assessment, treatment ,risk management, care planning and wider MDT working.

  • Complete holistic psychological assessments and co-produce psychological formulations; share these with the MDT to inform care plans
  • Deliver basic psychological interventions, either manualised or formulation driven
  • Administer/interpret basic psychometrics under supervision to aid memory assessment of support differential diagnosis
  • Being involved in audit /service evaluation and waiting list review tasks; engage with literature and research reviews; regularly evaluating service user feedback
  • Work closely and collaboratively with the wider MTD and participate in team clinical or service development discussions
  • Support any training or peer sv groups delivered by supervisor or trainee Clin. Psychologist
