The Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board is seeking to hire Band 2 Health Care Support Workers (HCSWs) for their busy Emergency Department at the Royal Glamorgan Hospital in Pontyclun. The positions are available for both full- and part-time roles. Successful candidates will work under the supervision of registered nurses, performing essential patient care tasks such as monitoring vital signs and assisting with nutritional needs. Strong communication skills are necessary to interact effectively with patients, their families, and the healthcare team. While proficiency in Welsh is desirable, applicants who speak either Welsh or English are encouraged to apply. The Health Board serves approximately 450,000 residents across the Bridgend, Merthyr Tydfil, and Rhondda Cynon Taf areas. The Emergency Department at the RGH is a busy department within a large district general hospital. The unit consists of a minor injuries unit, majors, ambulatory area and an adult and Paediatric resuscitation area.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for both full and part time Healthcare Support Worker posts to work as part of the clinical team within the Emergency Department (ED). The successful candidates will work under the direct supervision of the registered nurse and will be expected to undertake fundamental aspects of patient care including undertaking patient’s vital signs and supporting nutritional needs.
The individual will be required to have good communication skills to be able to relate to patients, members of patients families and the multidisciplinary team that work within the clinical area.
Informal visits are encouraged.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
