Are you a highly motivated and experienced nurse and ready to take your next step in your career? Then we would like to hear from you! We are looking for an applicant to join the Esther Ward team for a 1 year secondment to the Ward Manager Role.

Esther ward is currently a 24 bedded unit who care for a multi speciality of patients, including adult elective surgical oncology Thoracic, ENT and Head +Neck patients and a cohort of haematology and oncology patients . The ward has a fast turn-over of patients so we are looking for a forward thinking, enthusiastic and innovative leader who will be able to motivate nursing staff in the provision of high quality patient care. There is a strong multi-disciplinary focus on the ward so the successful candidate will need to be able to link closely with the ward teams and other service improvement projects to achieve the best possible patient outcomes. The successful candidate will be responsible for day to day management of patients, staff and the ward as well as supporting the Matron in delivering excellence across all aspects of our patients’ journey.

The secondment would offer the opportunity to develop the applicant’s management skills with the support of the Surgical Oncology Senior Leadership Team.

The successful candidate will be required to work in close collaboration with the head of nursing, matron and medical colleagues as well as a large multidisciplinary team to establish and deliver patient specific pathways, adapting innovative models of care and practice
