Job Overview


A fantastic opportunity has arisen to join our well-established, innovative, and dynamic Respiratory Service. We are expanding our successful team to provide support to respiratory patients in the community and hospital.

We are looking for two diligent and organised B3 Administrators who will work alongside colleagues to support the clinical team to deliver incredible respiratory care. Being the person likely to have the first contact with the patients, we are looking for a friendly and compassionate person who works well under pressure. The team administrators are pivotal to the day-to-day delivery of the service and reporting commitments.

The successful candidate will play an integral part in improving the standard of care for respiratory patients and will have the opportunity to work within a variety of settings. The award-winning team is based at Farnham Community Hospital, but we also see patients in hospitals, clinics, and in their own homes. Our focus is to support people to manage their condition within the most appropriate setting. No two days are the same.

The role is predominantly Monday – Friday with the hours being 9-5 but flexibility can be considered if the service requirements are met.

Main duties of the job

  • Taking telephone enquiries
  • First point of contact for patients and other healthcare professionals
  • Appointment bookings
  • Managing schedules
  • Liaising with patients through correspondence
  • Support other members of the team with administrative tasks

  • Educated to GCSE level or equivalent, in English.
  • Experience and training to vocational NVQ3 or equivalent

Desirable criteria

  • Qualifications in IT applications such as Excel.


Experience

  • Previous knowledge /understanding or experience of working in an office and/or customer care environment and administrative functions/duties.
  • Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team


Skills


Essential criteria

  • Knowledge and experience of navigating around software programmes/packages.
  • Effective Interpersonal & Communication Skills
  • Ability to manage deadlines, plan and organise own workload and that of team.
  • Excellent telephone manner
  • Able to demonstrate awareness of strict confidentiality.
  • Accurate copy and audio typing
  • Good IT skills to be able to enter data and can navigate around various systems and software packages – such as outlook, MS office and the internet.
  • Able to produce minutes.
