Job Summary

An opportunity has a risen for a motivated and enthusisatic healthcare assistant to join our busy and fast paced elective general surgical ward.

Working alongside the multi-disaplinary team , to support and provide a high standard of care to our patients, in various sub-specialities within general surgery and orthopaedics.

We are looking forward to meeting, candidates who are passionate about providing high standards of care and demonstrate the values of CHFT.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for an enthusiastic, dynamic and committed healthcare assistant an will welcome any forward thinking, caring individual, who is committed to providing high standards of care to our patients.

You must display excellent communication skills and be confident to deal with patients, families, carers and members of the multi-disciplinary team

About Us

We employ more than 6,500 staffwho deliver compassionate care from our two main hospitals,Calderdale Royal Hospital and Huddersfield Royal Infirmary as well as in community sites, healthcentres and in patients' homes. We also are incredibly proud to have almost 150 volunteers here at CHFT.

We provide a range of services including urgent and emergency care; medical; surgical; maternity; gynaecology; critical care; children's and young people's services; end of life care and outpatient and diagnostic imaging services.

We provide community health services, including sexual health services in Calderdale from Calderdale Royal and local health centres. These include Todmorden Health Centre and Broad Street Plaza.

• To support patients on their journey, through their time as an inpatient on the ward
• At all times treat patients, carers and colleagues with dignity and respect, exercising discretion and behaving in a manner consistent with the CHFT four pillars
• To be able to work independently and be part of a team, under the supervision under qualified nursing staff
• To maintain confidentiality
• Work in a callobrative and cooperative manner with other member of the team
• To undertake training including EST and adhere principles taught
• Undertake duties that you have recieved appropraite training for and have been deeemed competent
• To adhere to trust policies and procedures
• To establish and maintain effective communcation and relationships with the multi-disaplinary team
• Contritbute to the development of the clinical area, through contributation of new ideas to improve patient care experience

QUALIFICATIONS / TRAINING

• Competence based level 2 Qualification e.g. NVQ or Diploma in Care or The Care Certificate issued by an employer
• English and Math GCSE grade 9-2 (A*-E) or equivalent or high level of literacy and numeracy skills demonstrated within application
