The Support Services Assistant – Integrated Services position at NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde involves a vital role within one of the UK’s largest healthcare systems, responsible for maintaining cleanliness in patient and clinical areas, providing catering and laundering services, and assisting with housekeeping and porter/messenger duties. The role includes significant patient interaction, requiring effective communication skills. Various part-time positions are available at different sites, including a range of hours during weekdays and weekends, with specific shifts outlined for each post.

Candidates must have the right to work in the UK and provide references from their most recent employment or education. Training will be provided, and the organisation is adjusting its working week hours to 37 hours for full-time staff starting April 2024.

Please note the salary is Pro Rata for part time hours.

You will undertake the cleaning of patient areas, clinical and non-clinical departments, offices and administration areas to comply with national standards of cleanliness, provide patient catering, patient laundering, patients housekeeping, curtain changing and porter/messenger services within various health care environments including Mental Health wards

As part of the role you will have a lot of contact with patients so good communication skills are essential.
