Aberdeen City Council is seeking a Children's Escort for Orchard Brae School to work 10 hours a week during term time on a fixed-term basis. The role involves providing supervision and support for a pupil with complex additional support needs during travel between home and school, ensuring their safety at all times.

Location: Orchard Brae School

Duration: Term Time 10 hours per week, Fixed Term

This post is required to support a pupil with complex additional support needs to attend Camphill School. They will be required to support the pupil to travel safely between home and school. This will be a fixed term Camphill term time contract.

Roles that require PVG Membership

Please note that with effect from 1 April 2023, where a role requires PVG membership, candidates will be required to meet the cost of the PVG membership. This applies only to roles with a full time equivalent salary of £30,000 and above. (Teaching roles and jobs at Grade 12 and above (currently £32,555 per annum / £16.92 per hour)

The Council will pay for the PVG membership cost initially, either £18 for existing PVG scheme members, or £59 for non-members, and this cost will be deducted from an employee’s first FULL month’s salary payment.

Job Purpose

To accompany children who have additional support needs, on and off school transport, providing adequate supervision and ensuring that a high decree of health and safety is maintained at all times.

Requirements

The post holder needs to hold as a minimum:

PVG membership for regulated work with children, a willingness to obtain prior to a formal offer of employment being made.
