The Queen Victoria Hospital NHS Foundation Trust in East Grinstead is seeking a General Manager for its Core Clinical and Community Services Directorate. This senior leadership role (8C) involves managing day-to-day operations and driving improvements in patient care, particularly in relation to RTT and cancer standards. Candidates should have a strong background in senior operational roles, excellent stakeholder engagement skills, and a passion for enhancing patient experiences. The General Manager will collaborate closely with clinical and operational teams to ensure quality service delivery and maintain high access and improvement targets.

We have an exciting opportunity to join our Trust as General Manager –Core Clinical and Community Services Directorate (8C). Reporting to the Clinical Director for Core Clinica and Community Services.
We are looking to speak with motivated, compassionate, and resilient leaders with an excellent track record of delivering improvements to RTT and cancer standards. You will bring significant experience in a senior operational role plus evidence of success in developing services that deliver high quality patient care. You will be confident and comfortable engaging with stakeholders at all levels and be expected to establish and maintain relationships which enable the Trust to operate effectively with clinicians, managers and partners focused on improving outcomes and services to patients.

The General Manager is responsible and accountable for the day-to-day operational services of the directorate. They will work collaboratively as a member of the triumvirate to ensure services are clinically and operationally led. They will be patient focussed and ensure the delivery of access targets, and that quality improvement and a culture of learning and improvement is embedded within the directorate.

We specialise in conditions of the eyes (corneoplastics), hands, head and neck cancer and skin cancer, reconstructive breast surgery, maxillofacial surgery and prosthetics, providing regional and national services in these areas of clinical expertise. Our world-leading clinical teams also treat more common conditions of the eyes, hands, skin, and teeth for the people of East Grinstead and the surrounding areas. In addition, QVH provides a minor injuries unit, expert therapies, a sleep service, and a growing portfolio of community-based services. Patients consistently rate QVH amongst the top hospitals in the country for quality of care.
