We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when our regional and national services are included. The shift pattern is Monday-Friday 09.00-17.00/ 430pm on a Wednesday (37 hours) participation in public holidays and weekend working. We are looking for highly motivated and proactive individual to join our friendly and supportive pharmacy team in the delivery of clinical pharmacy services to a variety of clinical areas throughout Gartnavel General Hospital site. You Will Ensure the safe and effective supply of medicines to patients, co-ordinate and manage ward top-up services and be responsible for recycling & redistributing non-stock medicines that have been ordered for patients, helping to ensure that missed doses are avoided. Reduce drug expenditure and potential subsequent waste. Dispense medicines for patients being discharged from hospital and support nursing staff with good housekeeping of medicines. Be an integral member of the pharmacy team and work closely with the wider multidisciplinary team within the arthroplasty service including nurses, medical staff, pharmacists and pharmacy technicians. Requirements You must have excellent communication skills both verbal and written. Be able to organise and prioritise your own workload and the workload of others. A proficient level of general education at National 5/standard Grade level or above is essential. An SVQ/NVQ Level 2 pharmacy qualification or demonstrable training to equivalent level or working towards this. Proficient IT skills including typing and knowledge of Microsoft office packages (word, excel), email systems (outlook) is essential. Experience in using a stock control system is desirable. Previous experience in healthcare/pharmacy or customer facing role is desirable however full training will be provided.
