The Torbay and South Devon NHS Foundation Trust is seeking qualified or student Diagnostic Radiographers for Band 5 positions in their Radiology & Imaging team at Torbay Hospital. Both full-time and part-time roles are available, with a focus on plain film radiography. Candidates will gain experience in various modalities, including general radiography, fluoroscopy, and theatre imaging. The position involves compliance with safety regulations, providing high-quality patient care, and supervising trainees. A commitment to out-of-hours shifts is required. As a Band 5 Radiographer within this Trust, you will be based in Torbay Hospital, gaining skills and experience in a wide range of modalities, including general radiography, fluoroscopy, A&E, paediatric radiography, mobile & theatre imaging.
Our 24/7 service is mainly based at Torbay hospital, but we also provide 7 day working at Newton Abbot Community Hospital. Further plain film imaging is also provided at both Dawlish and Totnes Community Hospitals.
This contributes substantially to improving our patients care locally with the intention to have less reliance on acute bed-based care and to provide services closer to patients’ homes.
The Trust serves a population of 260,000 with a catchment area covering Torbay and South Dartmoor. The population increases by approximately 100,000 in the summer as a result of tourism. Torbay Hospital is ideally situated in the town of Torquay, famed for its sandy beaches and water sports. For those who prefer dry land, Dartmoor is close by and can be viewed from the staff room window! The cities of Exeter and Plymouth are located approximately 18 and 35 miles away.
