The role of Play Support Worker at NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is a part-time position (30 hours per week) based in the Royal Hospital for Children, specifically in the Accident and Emergency and Clinical Decisions unit. The job requires an NC Childhood Practice qualification or equivalent childcare credentials. The Play Support Worker will provide recreational and normalizing play activities for children and young people during their hospital visits, managing play areas and equipment while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team. Candidates should have some post-qualification experience working with children, ideally in a childcare setting; experience in healthcare is preferred but not mandatory. Strong communication skills and a commitment to inclusivity are essential. This is a fixed-term contract for 12 months with a shift pattern of Wednesday to Saturday, 12-8pm.
