The Surgical Care Rota Co-ordinator at Mersey and West Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust in Ormskirk will have primary responsibility for ensuring adequate medical cover for Anaesthetic and Critical Care services within Planned Care. This role involves preparing and publishing medical staffing on-call rotas, managing compliance with relevant employment terms, and coordinating short- and long-term staffing solutions, including out-of-hours cover and management of vacancies. The Co-ordinator will work closely with the clinical and management teams, liaising with HR for temporary staffing solutions and adhering to trust guidelines regarding bank and agency staff usage.

Additional responsibilities include monitoring leave and sickness absence for medical staff, ensuring robust communication and coordination for junior doctors, and facilitating the required administrative tasks within the department. The successful candidate will need to demonstrate effective teamwork abilities and a commitment to ensuring services run smoothly while maintaining the highest standards of patient care. This is a permanent, full-time position offering a salary band of £26,530 to £29,114 per annum.
