York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust are looking for a passionate and dynamic leader for our Triage Ward Manager role at York Hospital.
This is a fixed-term contract for up to 12 months for Maternity Leave Cover. If you are an internal applicant applying, this could also be considered as a Secondment with support from your Line Manager.
You will participate in the leadership of Antenatal Services/Triage services at the York site, supporting staff to lead with a focus on women, birthing individuals, and family centred care.
You will support and contribute to our improvement plans, informed by the Maternity Three Year Delivery Plan:

- Meeting and improving standards and structures
We are seeking to appoint an inspirational and highly motivated Triage Ward Manager:
- To provide senior leadership and hold overall responsibility for the day-to-day operational running of the clinical managerial and requirements for Triage.
- To lead by example and empower staff in their personal and professional development.
- Take the lead role in ensuring the environmental and ward processes are responsive to the needs of women and birthing individuals, providing assurance through agreed mechanisms.
- Work alongside and support the Triage team in a clinical capacity when required, being an expert practitioner to guide and advise the multi-disciplinary team as required.
- You will have excellent communication skills and will inspire your team with your drive and passion for developing people and services.
- You will be a visible and credible clinical leader, promoting compassionate leadership within Triage whilst engaging your team to improve standards of care.
As a professional Midwifery leader, you will ensure the professional development and standards of midwives within the Triage, providing professional oversight and governance.
