Location: Buchanan Centre, Coatbridge
Salary Scale Senior Dental Officer Band B - £80,942-£94,506 whole time
Hours of work: 4 days - 30 hours per week available (reduced commitment considered)
An opportunity has arisen for a Senior Dental Officer based in the Dental Outreach Centre at Buchanan Centre in Coatbridge ( 30 hours per week).
We are looking for an experienced dentist to join our team providing high-quality undergraduate dental education by teaching and supervising BDS5 students from University of Glasgow and BSc Oral Health Science students from Glasgow Caledonian University in clinical dental practice. The successful candidate will work closely with both the management team within the Public Dental Service in Lanarkshire and academic colleagues through both universities to ensure effective delivery of this essential and valuable part of the undergraduate curriculum. In addition, the successful applicant will be required to undertake dental treatment to ensure continuity of care for patients and a supply of suitable patients for students in the Outreach facility.
We are looking for applicants with experience in delivering dental education and with excellent communication and patient management skills developed by providing primary dental care. Applicants must have Full Registration with the General Dental Council, a relevant postgraduate qualification and at least five years’ experience in providing clinical dentistry.
