Band 5 Assistant Psychologist Adult Neurodevelopmental Service for CWPT
Are you looking for an opportunity to develop your knowledge and skills in relation to neurodiversity?
This is an exciting new post which will complement the current post-diagnostic offer within the Adult Neurodevelopmental Service.
You will work closely with Speech and Language Therapists (SLTs), Occupational Therapists (OTs) and Experts by Experience (EBE’s), with support and guidance from the AHP Clinical Leads and formal supervision from a Clinical Psychologist. An understanding of these roles within the team will be necessary.
Duties will include the provision of 1:1 psycho-educational appointment sessions as part of the post-diagnostic offer, primarily aimed at supporting the neurodivergent adults to understand their diagnosis and what it means to them.
There will also be opportunities to deliver time-limited interventions to support neurodivergent adults to work towards their therapeutic goals, supported by the post-diagnostic clinicians. This work may be face to face, via video call or via telephone.
This role may also involve the development of clinical resources with input from Experts by Experience working within the team.
We particularly welcome applications from those with knowledge and/or experience (including lived experience) of neurodivergence. A commitment to neuro-affirming practice is essential.
