Birmingham and Solihull Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust is offering a part-time or full-time Band 8a Clinical/Counselling Psychologist position for 12 months to cover maternity leave, based at Longbridge Health and Community Centre in South Birmingham. The role involves working with adults facing mental health challenges in a collaborative Community Mental Health Team (CMHT) environment. Candidates should have experience with complex mental health needs and be familiar with diverse communities, particularly under socioeconomic challenges. It is a stimulating time in the service as the post-holders will be supporting the transformation of our Community Services in BSMHFT.
We are looking for a suitably experienced Clinical or Counselling Psychologist (or equivalent applied Psychological Practitioner). Applicants for a band 7 post are also encouraged to apply if they do not currently have suitable experience for an 8a banding. You should have experience of working with service users with complex mental health and behavioural needs; additionally to be familiar with the needs of a diverse BAME community and working in areas of high socioeconomic deprivation.
