NHS Scotland is seeking a registered mental health nurse for the Forensic Acute Ward at Royal Cornhill Hospital in Aberdeen. This role involves providing high-quality, evidence-based care to clients with diverse mental health issues in a dynamic environment. The successful candidate will implement a patient-focused approach, grounded in risk assessment and management, to maximize patient potential while fostering a positive and therapeutic culture within the team. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, along with an understanding of current legislation, are essential for this position.

Applicants must be a member of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme, and an attractive relocation package of up to £8,000 is offered. Interviews are scheduled for February 10, 2025. An exciting opportunity has arisen in the Forensic Acute Ward of Royal Cornhill Hospital for an enthusiastic registered mental health nurse who is keen to enhance/develop their clinical skills in this specialist environment.

The post holder will contribute to providing high quality evidence-based care and support to clients who experience a diverse range of mental health issues within the Acute and Forensic Services. The post holder will, provide care through a progressive patient focused approach, within a therapeutic environment and underpinned by risk assessment and management that will maximise the individual’s potential.

As a pivotal member of the team you should possess good interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal), have a good understanding of current drivers and legislation. Forensic Acute is a dynamic environment and the ideal candidate should be motivated to work as a member of the team supporting a positive and therapeutic culture focused on the needs of the patient group.

The duties of this post require the successful candidate to be a member of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme.

An attractive relocation allowance of up to £8,000 is available to successful candidates
