Aneurin Bevan University Health Board is seeking a Senior Practitioner Psychologist (Counselling or Clinical) for its Adult Mental Health Specialty in South Caerphilly. This permanent position (Band 8a, or Band 7 for newly qualified candidates with significant experience) involves providing and developing specialist psychological services for adults, working within a cohesive community mental health team (CMHT). Applicants should be flexible, creative, and focused on professional development, as they will have opportunities to enhance their clinical expertise in various evidence-based therapies, including EMDR, DBT, and MBT. The role also emphasises leadership, as the successful candidate will facilitate team formulations and contribute to the clinical service.

The ideal candidate will possess a Doctorate in Clinical or Counselling Psychology and hold registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC). Essential experience includes working with adults facing significant mental health challenges and supervising others. The role requires strong communication skills and a willingness to engage in multi-disciplinary teams while promoting psychologically informed care. Language skills in Welsh are desirable but not a prerequisite.
