An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Psychologist to join Berkshire Healthcare Birth in Mind. As part of Maternal Mental Health Services, BIM is a specialist service providing assessment and treatment for adults with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) to their birth experience and/or severe Fear of Birth (medically referred to as tokophobia). Joining our dynamic and friendly team, you will work across BIM, contributing to both pathways.
The role is based at Erlegh House on the University of Reading White Knights Campus. The location has plenty of car parking with electric car charging points, access to green spaces, local shops and access to the University of Reading gym.
We offer a blended model of delivery including face to face and online working from our well resourced clinic space or from home when appropriate.
We are a growing, friendly team of psychological therapists and psychologists committed to providing the best care. Birth in Mind is a specialist service providing assessment and treatment for adults with Fear of Birth and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) to their birth experience. This role offers the rare opportunity of working within a growing, specialist team, while having access to the support, resources and expertise of the wider service.
- As a valued member of our team, your role will combine clinical and service development components.
- You will be expected to support qualified members of staff with completing assessments and psychological birth plans, and if appropriate complete psychological interventions such as individual client psycho education sessions under supervision of a qualified staff member, or support group interventions.
- You will contribute to the completion of service development and evaluation projects and research including collection of clinical outcome measures, management of the clinical outcome measure database, conduct audits, and data analysis for service evaluation.
- You may be involved in developing clinical materials for the service and contribute to ongoing project work. There may also be the opportunity to work with our service user involvement group.
