Salary:

Scale 4 (£24,921 27,351 - Pro rata)



Contract:

Part-Time - 20 hours per week



Hours: 1600-2000 hours Mon-Friday


North Yorkshire Police are excited to announce we have a current position for a Customer Service Officer to join our dedicated front counter / enquiry desk team. We are also looking to build a holding list for future positions should they arise in the next 12 months.

This role will put you at the heart of local policing assisting members of the public, police officers, and police staff with a wide range of services. This is a very demanding and challenging role, but it is an exceptionally varied, interesting, and rewarding opportunity to support your local community.


Responsibilities



As a Customer Service Officer, you will look to provide a high-quality service to colleagues and members of the public. Other responsibilities will include:


  • Taking incident reports from victims of crime.
  • Providing advice and support to members of the public on a variety of enquiries.
  • Being the first point of contact for all visitors to the police station.
  • Completing court-ordered registrations and managing bail appointments.
  • Handling surrendered firearms and weapons.
  • Processing seized vehicle releases.
  • Undertaking a wide range of administrative duties including handling cash and sensitive material, taking switchboard calls and processing online reports of crime.

T

o be successful in this role you will have:


Well-developed communication skills, demonstrable both verbally and in writing.

Previous experience of using Microsoft Office packages such as Excel, Word, and Outlook.

Good attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate records.

Experience of working in a customer service environment is desirable, however we do provide training and development on these skills.
