Practice Plus Group is seeking a Porter to join the healthcare team at HMP Lewes, a category B male prison. This part-time role entails working 22.5 hours per week, ideally on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 8 am to 4 pm, with a salary of up to £27,583 per annum (pro rata). Main duties of the job
As a Porter, Your Responsibilities Will Vary. You Will
- Provide a high standard of portering services and housekeeping, escorting visitors and contractors into and around the prison
- Deal with patients, healthcare colleagues and other professionals over the phone and face to face
- Carry out basic admin tasks, including answering calls, scanning, delivering post etc
- Deliver a tidy healthcare area, monitoring and ordering stock as necessary, paying attention to expiry dates and cost of equipment
- Some waste management
- Delivery of blood samples to local hospital which is within walking distance from the prison
