Job responsibilities

Adhere to all local standard operating procedures and policies, patient treatment/care plans, with support from registered healthcare practitioners available.

To accurately monitor and record a patients vital signs, reporting abnormalities immediately to nursing or medical staff.

To be actively involved in the assessment, planning, implementing and evaluation of a patient.

To have a good understanding of aseptic technique, work at all times in a way that minimises the risk of infection and and maintains health, safety and security in line with established protocols (eg. hand hygiene, use of Personal Protective Equipment).

Assist patients with all Activities of Daily Living and maintain patient dignity, privacy and confidentiality at all times.

Assess (through basic observations) patient health, safety & wellbeing before and while undertaking any activity or intervention, and respond accordingly.

To assist medical staff with procedures.

To have a basic understanding of renal disease and the importance of dietary and fluid requirements of individual patients.
