An exciting opportunity to work at an OFSTED Outstanding Special School. We are seeking to appoint a Personal Care Assistants. The position would suit someone from a care background as the job is about the personal care of our pupils not their educational needs To carry out personal care routines with/for our pupils (including manual handling, training will be provided). To assist in the break and lunchtime supervision of pupils to ensure that their drink/meal is completed on time in a safe and hygienic setting. To deliver food in the consistency and way suitable for each pupil according to their personal eating and drinking needs. To support hydrotherapy and physiotherapy sessions. To deliver a range of appropriate lunchtime play or leisure activities for pupils to ensure that lunchtime is an enjoyable experience for all children. Further training will be provided to assist pupils that are tube fed and for the administration of medication. To support pupils in accessing their environment and community. Candidates must bring energy and enthusiasm with a commitment to inclusion. We will provide a planned induction within a strong and supportive multi-professional team. The Post Is Permanent 5 days a week - 25 hours per week. Monday to Friday 9.30am to 2.45pm (including a 15 minute unpaid break). Term time only, working 39 weeks (including 5 inset days), 13 weeks school holidays of which 6.6 weeks paid as annual leave. No entitlement to annual leave during term. Salary dependent on continuous service with Bristol City Council.
