An exciting opportunity to work at an OFSTED Outstanding Special School.
We are seeking to appoint a Personal Care Assistants. The position would suit someone from a care background as the job is about the personal care of our pupils not their educational needs
- To carry out personal care routines with/for our pupils (including manual handling, training will be provided).
- To assist in the break and lunchtime supervision of pupils to ensure that their drink/meal is completed on time in a safe and hygienic setting.
- To deliver food in the consistency and way suitable for each pupil according to their personal eating and drinking needs.
- To support hydrotherapy and physiotherapy sessions.
- To deliver a range of appropriate lunchtime play or leisure activities for pupils to ensure that lunchtime is an enjoyable experience for all children.
- Further training will be provided to assist pupils that are tube fed and for the administration of medication.
- To support pupils in accessing their environment and community. Candidates must bring energy and enthusiasm with a commitment to inclusion. We will provide a planned induction within a strong and supportive multi-professional team.
The Post Is Permanent
5 days a week - 25 hours per week. Monday to Friday 9.30am to 2.45pm (including a 15 minute unpaid break). Term time only, working 39 weeks (including 5 inset days), 13 weeks school holidays of which 6.6 weeks paid as annual leave. No entitlement to annual leave during term. Salary dependent on continuous service with Bristol City Council.
