The role of MDT Coordinator/Cancer Tracker with NHS Lothian in Edinburgh involves collaborating with clinical and non-clinical staff across cancer multidisciplinary teams in the Surgical Directorate. The primary responsibilities include tracking cancer patients throughout their care journey from referral, identifying barriers to timely treatment, and facilitating the collection and analysis of audit data to monitor patient care. The postholder will also coordinate multidisciplinary team meetings to ensure efficient progression of cancer patient management and provide secretarial support to the Specialist Nurse team.

The position requires a current PVG Scheme membership, with necessary adjustments made for candidates with disabilities or long-term conditions. NHS Scotland emphasises equality and diversity in its workforce and is committed to a reduced weekly working hours from 37.5 to 37 hours starting April 2024, although temporary adjustments in working hours may be necessary in some service areas during the transition.
