Clinical Nurse Specialist for hepatology with University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust in London, England, United Kingdom
This role is to enhance our existing hepatology service, taking a lead in ensuring our patients get timely access to care and treatment and are supported during diagnosis and ongoing treatment. In order to streamline the patient pathway and improve waiting times for appointments, this post will set up and run a one stop clinic for patients whereby they can be assessed, have up to date bloods taken and ultrasound/ fibroscan as required. The successful candidate will manage the one-stop clinic, assessing its value from a patient experience and the service as a whole. They will also support the current work with patients attending our emergency department who are found to have Hep B or hep C, ensuring they are identified, treated and referred on as appropriate to community services. The successful candidate will have knowledge and experience with hepatology nursing, ideally have some experience of running outpatient clinics and a desire to work with our potentially vulnerable patients, supporting their health and wellbeing. This post has been funded for 12 months to support the development and growth of the nurse-led service so the successful postholder will also have to work with the clinical team and service manager to capture measures of success throughout the 12 months.
