Job Summary
Post holder will also deliver a range of community based initiatives; utilising a range of agreed approaches to support positive changes to food, nutrition, and physical activity behaviours. They will support the local delivery and evaluation of Nutrition Skills for LifeTM services.
The successful candidate will receive a range of training opportunities and work alongside fellow Dietetic Assistant Practitioners in Public Health Dietetics, under the guidance of the Senior Public Health Dietitians. They will receive weekly supervision sessions with a registered dietitian and will work closely with a range of partner agencies to promote positive healthy lifestyle behaviours.
Main duties of the job
To undertake necessary training on nutrition, motivational interviewing, and behaviour change strategies
To lead the delivery of comprehensive healthy lifestyles programmes
To plan, develop, coordinate and evaluate nutrition based group education sessions, practical cooking skills and community based nutrition interventions to a range of audiences, under the direction of Specialist Public Health Dietitians
To work autonomously and under own initiative on specific projects, as agreed with supervising Public Health Dietitian, seeking advice and support as necessary
To maintain clear and accurate records in line with professional and departmental standards
To contribute to team and community needs assessments, to plan and implement nutrition and health promoting activities under direction of Specialist Public Health Dietitians
To be actively involved with quality improvement and specifically participation in the Nutrition Skills for LifeTM Quality Assurance with the Public Health Dietitians
To participate in team meetings to discuss programme progress and ensure that feedback is given to relevant bodies or groups
