Health Care Support Worker - Older Peoples Service with NHS Scotland in Glasgow, Scotland, United Kingdom

We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when our regional and national services are included. The shift pattern for this position is 11.5 hours over 7 days rotational. An exciting opportunity has arisen for an adaptable person to join the team in Older People Department within Glasgow Royal Infirmary. You will play an important role in supporting the patient journey throughout their stay with us. Experience in venepuncture, recording vital signs and recording ECGs is essential. You Should Possess excellent communication skills and demonstrate a caring attitude and have the ability to work within an excellent team. The opportunity has arisen for individual's to join the team within our Older people Department. As a team player with excellent communication skills and flexibility to contribute effectively to service development, who can work as part of a team but also under your own initiative delivering high quality, patient focused care in an environment that is busy and demanding. You will be expected to provide support to the registered nursing team, by carrying out an extended range of assigned clinical tasks as well as direct patient care and associated administrative duties. You must be adaptable to change and have the ability to work without direct supervision. Previous experience of working within a healthcare setting is essential and completion of SVQ level 3 is desirable or working towards or agreed equivalent and to evidence completion of the agreed competency profile.
