We have an opportunity to provide psychological leadership though an exciting time of change and transition within a well-respected and valued team.
We are looking to recruit an experienced psychological professional with considerable clinical and leadership experience. The post is to oversee the delivery of psychological therapy and interventions within a busy multi-disciplinary team, to ensure a high quality, equitable service in the East/North-East locality of the city.
Leeds community and wellbeing services are multi-disciplinary groups of professionals working together to provide specialist community-focused mental health services to working age adults. Psychological practitioners are a much valued and integral part of this work, providing specialist assessment and interventions, and contributing to the clinical thinking and decision making of the teams. Alongside direct clinical work, a key component of the role is to provide supervision, consultation, and training to the wider team.
The post-holder will lead an established team of psychological professionals including Clinical Psychologists, Psychotherapists, CBT Therapist and Trainee CBT therapists, Clinical Associate Practitioner and Mental Health & Wellbeing Practitioner, and provide clinical and line-management supervision. They will also work closely with the other members of the leadership team, to develop strong working relationships and effective care pathways. Alongside these leadership roles, they will carry a clinical caseload, working both directly and indirectly with service users.
You will oversee the demand and capacity of the provision of psychological therapies and interventions and have an excellent knowledge of different psychological approaches.
You will have a key role in the senior leadership team in the locality, working together to lead the team through a time of transition.
To ensure the systematic provision of a high quality highly specialist psychotherapy service to service users within working age adult services across all sectors of care.
To supervise and support the psychological assessment, therapy and psychological interventions provided by other psychological practitioners who provide psychologically based care and treatment.
To work autonomously within professional guidelines and exercise responsibility for the systematic governance of psychological practice within the working age adult service.
To be responsible for providing a psychological lead on identified projects; providing advice, consultation and supervision.
To use professional skills in research, audit, service evaluation and development to incorporate a psychological framework for the understanding and provision of high-quality care.
To contribute as a senior clinician to the development of high quality, responsive and accessible services, supporting identified service developments in the working age adult service. To contribute to the development and implementation of policy changes within the working age adult service.
